How we make money

Last updated: 6 November 2026

How we earn, and the rules we hold ourselves to

  1. Affiliate links. We use affiliate links only for firms in our two real-capital zones. If you join through such a link, the firm pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. Every page with an affiliate link says so. Today we have an affiliate link with hi2morrow.
  2. No affiliate links to red-zone firms. Ever.
  3. No paid ratings. A firm cannot pay to enter the rating, to change its score or zone, or to remove a page. The order inside each zone is set by the score alone.
  4. Same rules for everyone. A firm that pays us a commission is scored by the same methodology as a firm that does not. If we change the methodology, we publish the change and re-score every firm.
  5. Tips. Readers may later be able to support the site with a small tip. Tips do not buy anything.

The author's own ties

The founder previously worked at a real-capital prop firm, as a trader, risk manager and head of office. He is not employed by or invested in any firm in our rating. Affiliate commissions, where we have them, are listed above. Every firm is scored by the same methodology.

Corrections and right of reply

We want this site to be accurate, including about firms we rate low.

  • Found an error? Write to hello@tradingisajob.com with a link to the page and a source. We aim to reply within 5 working days.
  • A firm wants to respond? A firm may send corrections with documents, or a short written reply. If a document changes a fact, we correct the page and re-score it. If not, we may publish the firm's reply on its page.
  • Every correction is dated. Changes to scores and zones are logged in the firm's "Last changes" block.

We do not remove accurate, sourced information because a firm asks us to.
